A Family Vacation that's Picture Perfect!

Black River Lodge is located on the headwaters of the beautiful Black River, the Lodge sits on 250 acres with one-half mile of riverfront and offers 66 carpeted, air-conditioned units with refrigerators, recreation hall and dining room--overlooking the scenic Black River.


Black River Lodge has been operated by the Ries Family since 1946. Most of our guests are long time friends, who have been coming for years. Three and four generations of the same family enjoy these vacations together with us. We all have a good time, so if you would like to meet some great people and make new friends, come down and join us, and you will have a vacation to remember.

Family vacations are special at Black River Lodge. We offer completely modern air-coditioned cabins with combination tub/shower, refrigerators and safe electric heat for cool or damp days. Maid services, towels (no washcloths), and linens are included. Our rates also include three great meals daily and served family style in our smoke-free dining room.

Children love our well-equipped Playland and supervised activities 5 day a week just for the youngsters, including games, crafts and refreshments for the little guys and tournaments for kids seven-years old and up. We also have kiddy train rides.


Black River Lodge is located within easy driving distance of Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park, Elephant Rocks State Park, and Taum Sauk Mountain State Park. Taum Sauk mountain is the highest point in the state of Missouri. If you're up for a day trip you can visit Big Springs at the Ozark National Waterways, or head to Dillard Mill State Historic Site. There are more state parks within 50 miles of Lesterville than any other city in the state.
